So, we've begun our journey by traveling to Santa Monica. First Class wasn't too bad [ ;-) ]...Kaydi said, "Mom, they're paying a lot of attention to us and this meal is just like being in a restaurant! This is great!" I couldn't disagree, though I cautioned her against getting used to 'going in style', since I won't have any more piles of frequent flyer miles anytime soon. (So, I wait 'til my 50s for that experience, and she's all of 10...figures.)
Gary and Marcy have been very hospitable and helpful; I've been efficiently attending to our remaining 'to do' items. Thank goodness for these few additional days before we fly off to China. Los Angeles is a strange place--but if you drive far enough, you can get to pretty much anywhere, need-wise.
Kaydi spent much of yesterday visiting dogs--Gary took her to the homes of people he knows who have sweet pups...she thought that was heavenly, of course. Seems her licking quotient was satisfied, at least for now. Me, I'm packing and repacking...guess I'll eventually get it right.

Hey there. Amy and I will be following your trip! Amy is obviously jealous of Kaydi and the licking dogs. I don't, however, think Amy's licking quotient could ever be satisfied. Meanwhile, Amy must have been thinking about you this morning when out of the blue she asked if she could learn Chinese. It's "such a cool language" she said.Or maybe it was the influence of seeing The Karate Kid...Either way, bon voyage, to borrow a phrase from another language!
