Thanks for checking in....this promises to be the travel blog for our upcoming trip to China...that of the Zembow and Bataille/Nakata families.  The Zs will be traveling to Beijing via Santa Monica/Los Angeles and the BNs will fly directly to China.  Rendezvous time is Saturday, July 3rd, in the late evening...stay tuned!

Michele: And we're off.....! <p> So, we've begun our journey by traveling to Santa Monica. First Class wasn't too bad [ ;-) ]...Kaydi said, "Mom, they're paying a lot of attention to us and this meal is just like being in a restaurant!&nbsp; This is great!"&nbsp; I couldn't disagree, though I cautioned her against getting used to 'going in style', since I won't have any more piles of frequent flyer miles anytime soon.&nbsp; (So, I wait 'til my 50s for that experience, and she's all of 10...figures.) </p><p>Gary and Marcy have been very hospitable and helpful; I've been efficiently attending to our remaining '<em>to do</em>' items.&nbsp; Thank goodness for these few additional days before we fly off to China.&nbsp; Los Angeles is a strange place--but if you drive far enough, you can get to pretty much anywhere, need-wise.</p><p>Kaydi spent much of yesterday visiting dogs--Gary took her to the homes of people he knows who have sweet pups...she thought that was heavenly, of course.&nbsp; Seems her <em>licking quotient </em>was satisfied, at least for now.&nbsp; Me, I'm packing and repacking...guess I'll eventually get it right. </p>
